Who is Michael Edmond Landry?
Mike Landry is a 23 year old guy from Massachusetts who works as a technical editor for Hewlett-Packard. Besides working for HP, he writes and maintains Faisca’s Corner and The Capoeira Blog. He is also an alumni blogger for the Assumption College Blogs.
In his free time he enjoys putting his right-brain to use by writing, drawing, graphic designing, and generally trying to be as creative as he can.
His favorite literary works include George Orwell’s 1984 and Stephen King’s The Stand. He is fond of modern innovations such as comic books, video games, and movie films. He keeps Aristotle and Spider-Man in his pantheon of heroes.
A student of the liberal arts, Mike graduated from Assumption College in 2006 with a BA in Political Science; ask him about his political beliefs and he would be inclined to say libertarian.
While at college he also waxed philosophical (enough to minor in philosophy, anyway), cultivated his grasp on the English language, and started down the path towards enlightenment, or so he hopes.
Once upon a time, Mike discovered the Brazilian art form of capoeira, and his life was never quite the same.
He studies under Mestre Loka of CapuraGinga, writes about it at The Capoeira Blog, and passes on his knowledge and skills by teaching at the Assumption College Capoeira Club (which he founded). He doesn’t mind if you think he’s only “dance fighting,” but does hope that you won’t be offended if he kicks you in the jaw.
He prefers Mac over PC.
Mike has played soccer and guitar. He has been a breakdancer and a cheerleader. He is a collector of swords, a believer in bigfoot, and a chaser of dreams.
